Transportation is provided for all pupils K - 12 who live more than 1/4 mile from the school they legally attend.  Transportation also is provided to private and parochial schools.  An application for transportation to non-public schools must be submitted to the office of the Superintendent of Schools by April 1 of the year preceding the school year for which transportation is requested.  Inquiries regarding transportation should be directed to the transportation office at 493-0950.

SCHOOL BUS RULES and REGULATIONS
It is extremely important that self-discipline be maintained on the school bus. It is obvious that if students'  behavior causes the driver's attention to be distracted, all students are placed in jeopardy. In order to achieve he highest degree of safety, the following rules and regulations will be enforced.

  • Students are to be on time and avoid horseplay at the bus stop.
  • Any student who misbehaves or shows, by speech or act, disrespect for the bus driver or is involved in an incident harmful to the health, safety and well being of students or the driving ability of the bus driver, may be suspended from bus transportation and the parent/guardian will be contacted. If necessary, a conference may be held with the bus driver, parent/guardian of the student involved and the administration.
  • Students who cause damage to a bus willfully, maliciously or unlawfully will be responsible for their actions. parents or legal guardians also bear responsibility in such cases.
  • The school is not responsible for transportation other than home to school and return to home. Exception will be considered only with a written request from the parent stating the reason and with the approval of the administration.
