Dear CE Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and that you were able to spend time with your family and friends making memories. I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself as the new principal of Carthage Elementary. I am honored to be joining a talented staff of educators and a supportive community. In addition, I am excited to be a part of the Carthage Central School District, as my professional values align with the district's commitment to providing all students with positive educational experiences.

As a long-standing member of the district, I have served as a classroom teacher, a K-4 mathematics academic intervention specialist, and most recently as an assistant principal at the the Carthage Middle School.  My goal is to ensure that all students are happy, healthy, and safe. I am committed to working with educators, parents and the community to promote a school culture with high standards and effective teaching practices. I will spend the remainder of the school year getting to know the students, their personalities, learning styles and interests. In addition, I will work with the teachers and staff to acknowledge student’s successes, both small and large. Furthermore, I will encourage all students to put their best foot forward. It is important to me that all students feel welcomed and understand that they hold a special place in our school community.

I am very much looking forward to working with the families of Carthage Elementary. I feel fortunate to be a part of a district that is not only committed to providing students with rigorous curriculum, but also the necessary supports to achieve success. I am excited to collaborate and support the CE staff, while also sharing my knowledge and experiences. I look forward to partnering with families, educators and the community for the benefit of our students. I believe that it is important to teach students how to learn and to provide them with strategies to overcome obstacles. In order to do so, we must establish positive home-school connections, as it is vital to the success of our students.  I welcome you all to be a part of the school community in any way, my door is always open. I look forward to working with you all.
